Program Structure

PlanetarySciences_StudyTracks

The Planetary Sciences and Space Exploration track brings together planetary science, space exploration, and Earth analog studies in a dynamic, research-driven environment.

Earth Observation focuses on the monitoring and analysis of Earth systems through satellite data and geospatial technologies, where ground truth observations play a key role in validating space-based data and understanding environmental processes.

The GeoPlaNet EMJM in Planetary Geosciences aims to train the future cohort of tomorrow's best researchers  with a unique and world competitive European learning experience based on a strong education by research.

FAQ

- Is this programme more geology or space science?
It is intentionally interdisciplinary: geology and geophysics are taught through a space-mission and data-driven perspective.

- Do I learn remote sensing and satellite data analysis?
Yes. Remote sensing and Earth Observation are part of the core programme, with a dedicated EO track for deeper specialization.

- What career paths does it prepare for?
PhD and research positions, space agencies, Earth observation services, environmental monitoring, GIS and remote sensing roles, as well as education and public institutions.
